The End of an Era
I first came up with the idea for PogoBijoux in April of 2020 while making 3-D models of liminal spaces.
I thought, why not make a game centered around liminal spaces?
At that point in time, all the existing liminal space-themed games were pretty bad.
Anemoiapolis and Hugo Albert's Liminal Game didn't exist yet, so I had no point of reference that I could use.
Initially, I was going for something similar to Yarhalla's SOUP, the first level being heavily inspired by it.
After making the first level, I decided to try a different and more diverse style featuring both indoor locations as well as spacious outdoor locations such as cities and empty fields; then everything went on from there.
I kept working on the game for all of 2021 and 2022 until it reached a playable state in early 2023.
Bijoux was a relatively significant part of my life for the past three years, with me constantly looking for new ways to improve it and trying to think of original level ideas.
Now that Bijoux is pretty much complete, it feels a bit strange to me that this period in my life is now over.
PogoBijoux hasn't received much attention (hopefully it will in the near future), but I plan on making a sequel with a more advanced renderer and physics engine.
